Troubleshoot DSL Modem

Step #1

· Disconnect all add-on equipment; (wireless router, play station, x-box, etc)

Step #2

· Power down the modem for 20 seconds

· Power back up

· ADSL Link light on modem should remain solid green

    · If not solid green, no need to proceed; contact Tech Support 888-200-8077

    · If solid, try to surf

      · If fails to bring up web pages…Go To Step #3

Step #3

· Log in to Modem by bringing up Internet Browser

· Type 192.168.1.1; username: root (lower case); password: 12345

· Click, Advance Set Up, Click, Add the VPI, type, 0; VCI, type, 35

· Service Category will be marked, UBR without PCR;

· Enable Quality of Service, unchecked

· Click, Next; PPP over Ethernet should be dotted

· Encapsulation Mode will be marked, LLC/snap bridging; Enable 802.1q, unchecked

· Click, Next; type your username (without @seidata.com) and password (you set up through SEI Data)

· PPOE Service Name, Leave Blank

· Authentication Method set to, Auto

· Dial on Demand, Checked or Unchecked

· Check, Enable NAT, Enable Firewall, Fixed MTU (MTU box will read 1492)

· Click, Next; Enable WAN service should be, Checked

· Service Name, Do Nothing

· Click, Next; should read as follows:

· VPI/VCI: 0/35 Connection Type PPOE

· Service Name: BR_0_35

· Service Category: UBR

· IP Address: Automatically Assigned

· Service State Enabled, Nat Enabled, Firewall Enabled, IGM Multicast Disabled, Quality of Service Disabled

· Click, Save, then Save and Reboot

Step #4

· Close Browser, wait 2 to 3 minutes

· Reopen Browser and bring up a web page

· Test by bringing up a few more web pages
